Stereo & Electronics - Advice: Need to purchase a new HO alternator best place to get one

Hey all:

I need a alternator for my 02 Camaro. My car has all the options and also 2 bottle heaters, so I want to step up to a higher output one. Just wanted some input the best place to get one and price. Plus I dont want one I have to replace every 6 months. Had some bad luck with one from autozone in another car awhile back.

Go find a local Alternator repair shop. I've got no doubt that they do upgrades. There's one around me here in Minnesota that's awesome. Basically you go in, either with and alternator or not (except core you'll need) and then they upgrade the factory one, or you buy one from them that's upgraded. I think they can make ones that exceed 220amp :) They re-wind the cores and stuff and add higher quality parts, etc. Pretty sweet really. My 93 is under-amped a bit, so I get to upgrade to a 94+ one for more powa!

ive seen in person a cadillac escalde alt. work on a 98 trans am.i looked at it and doubted it,but it fits.they are high output.i cant remeber the amps.
