there is a place (dont know if they are a sponsor or not) that makes custom boxes for the ls1...they look really nice and fit really well from what i have seen...Those L7's require alot of air space, so fiberglass might be a good idea to get the most out of what space you have...

So did you get one or two L7's? And depending on what your going for will depend on your space requirements. I have had one L7 for a while and went from a custom SPL box that took up the entire trunk space to a small sealed box that is portable. They both sound awesome as long as you build them to fit the speaker.

Here is my old SPL box: Never got around to sleeving the port, but it got the job done.

The sealed box I use now: I wanted to retain the use of my t-top holders so I wanted this box to be easily removable.

blackbirds system works. and if you want a way to keep your t-top storage then that is great. The truth is though, our cars are so incredible with subs becasue of the round hatch-back design. The sound can travel very fluidly when facing the rear glass. It acts as a wall esentially bouncing the base staight to the front. If you place your sub firing sideways into your t-top rack you will hear less crisp base and more rattling. Here are some pictures of what I am talking about.

its on the left side(same side under the hood as the battery), all you have to do is remove the computer and there is a rubber grommet behind it, I just did my system install 3 days ago and thats the best place that I found......

That is not true. Subwoofer Bass is Omnidirectional. That means it travels in every direction no matter wat. However, certain frequencies can only be heard from further away, typically lower frequencies. There for by facing the sub to the side the sound has to travel further to get to you, making it further away and making it sound better. When people build custom boxes like you pictured, it is usually for show, or their subs are just so powerful that it doesnt matter which way they go.

I have a custom box i built which angled the subs with the rear hatch and looked great and all, but in all reality when i Put one ten facing sideways in the t-top area it was so much better than the 2 tens facing forward wiht the custom box.

I agree, before mounting my amp and cap to the box, I tested the system with the sub facing the glass and facing the side. I decided to let it face the side because it sounded so much better that way with my particular setup.
