finished all of the sound deadening except for the doors, and i still need to install a lot of interior peices but i was so beat by the time i got done i figure ill finish everything another day. also got my snow dubs dropped off today by a local cop who no longer drives his T/A in the snow, so this thing might actually move now.hehe, only thing that still sucks for the snow is the posi unit is toast, only works sometimes, which isnt great for the snow but w/e it'll be fine till i have $$$ to replace it.hehe. ive already noticed a HUGE difference in the exhaust tone, which is saying something considering my setup. anyways heres all the pics i snapped today.

its eDeadv2se. FAR from duct tape. its 65 mils thick. excellent product. i need to do the doors still and then when i get the time before my system goes back in im gonna use any leftover(i had 150 feet, hehe) and im gonna do a 2nd layer over the big parts in the trunk to hopefully stop any other small noises. also i might do the inside of the actuall plastic interior panels, like the console, sail panels and the stupid removal ones in the back that rattle all day long.

how much did a full layer weigh? Whats the cost of the stuff?

nice i gotta do that too. for now i just stuffed pillow making foam into the removable panels and that stopped the vibrations

i got 150 sq feet. i paid 1.32 a foot but its normally 1.60 for the 65 mil stuff like i got from Elemental Designs. it was all abuot 75 pounds.

Ok, supid question now. Has anybody taken a decible meter and measured BEFORE and AFTER this mod?? How much noise are we really talkin' about here to go through all this trouble?

Looks good, I hate laying that stuff... It always pulls the skin off my hands.

Generally speaking, Dynamat extreme advertises (or did) about 2-3db reduction in noise.

let me put it another way....I could actually have a conversation after I put the stuff in...lol ;)

my long tubes, ORY and loudmouth are quieted down a decent amount. i plan on doing a 2nd layer in the hatch and back there where most of the exhaust sound comes in. also, right now the car is still mostly stripped so when i sound deaden the backsides of the interior panels and the console, etc. it should really make an even bigger difference.

2-3 dBs is a huge difference in sound power level. Every 3 db the sound power doubles. So you could say that by reducing the interior noise level by 3 dBs you are cutting the power of the ambient noise in half.

Ignorance owns you.

Also consider that older vehicles vs late models are totally different. Back in the 60-70's most cars weren't even insulated that well (except luxury vehicles), so the actual improvement would be slightly higher IMO. Newer models are improving each year on internal sound deadening.

Obviously, each vehicle will yield different results.

hoow much sqft do you think i will need to do this much

Thats all i want to do on my car!

you will prolly need about 80 feet or so. honestly.... i would do everything Dan. the floor makes SUCH a difference and as far as just in general, the doors are the number one thing you should do. i started thinking where i didnt need it in what places, but then i thought about it and said, if im gonna start deciding what will help and what wont.... its not worth it, so i just did everything and now i have no worries and to be honest..... without any of the intertior panels in the car right now, its quieter than before. i have the carpet back in place and my drivers seat, to get to work and school and the car is actually quieter right now with the sound deadening than it was before with all the interior together and no sound deadening. i cant wait to get everything in and make it solid as a rock.

Thats great, I'd really like to look into this but my 2000 white T/A is my daily driver and im not that great with taking apart the interior, i had a rough time with my door panels when i installed my system. Looking at the pictures this doesn't look like something i can accomplish on my own. Major props though, i love your car and i love the black on white, especially your spoiler

the all-out go fast dudes hate the concept of adding dead weight...
but the stuff helps out alot. very noticable difference and worth it if you want a quiet car.

heres my old deadening post. basically e.d. porn... it sure was pretty to look at, almost a shame to cover it all back up.

Hence, my EFA board name: "Junk in the Trunk"
I get harrassed frequently, "when you gonna take that chit out, and run like a real LS1 should?" :judge: :jest:

the difference now that the panels are all back in (and i deadened the back of them) and the seats are all in and its complete, is HUGE. its a totally different car in my oppinion. my LTs and loudmouth now sounds like a magnaflow with manifolds.

Yes, most ppl don't realize the value of this product, but it does come at a price (SPEED)

haha for sure. the way i look at it tho... if i want my car to be really quick, then sound deadening wont matter because im not gonna try to make it as fast i can with bolt ons, im stepping right up to forced induction and internals.hehe. seriously tho, if anyone is considering this and has a few spare days to do it..... DO IT. youll love it.
