I have searched and I was wondering what most people run in the doors of their camaro's or firebirds. I am going with a 10" DS subthump box with an Infinity Perfect with around 400 watts (I can get one for free, after it blows i will go with a W-3 or Type-R) and I am wondering what components I should get for the front stage. I like my highs a whole lot and definately want something loud and clean. I do not plan to run any rear speakers. I plan to have my front components and then the 10" sub.

I am thinking about either MB Quart, JL Audio XR's, Crystals (had them in my tahoe), Kicker RS or SS, or any other suggestions. I want to spend no more than around 250-300 on front speakers, but the less the better. I will feed the door speakers around 100-150rms per door, so any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks guys.

Well right now I have a US Acoustics 2150 (has been a very good amp for me) which does about 150x2 which I plan to bridge onto my sub for now and then move it to my components and get a mono amp for the subs. If I don't go this route then I will get a Kicker 550.3 and run the system off that.

MBs and JLs are good. I'd cut the Kickers out of that lineup.

Also look at the Resonant Engineering XXXs, Elemental Designs eDi's, Image Dynamics Chameleons, Adire Kodas (assuming that set is still around), Focal Utopias. Or, you could go DIY and use Vifa, Morel, Peerless, etc.

So you really feel that strongly against the kickers huh? I would really like to go pretty mainstream, just because I have gone with some other brands before and not liked them. I have had th jl's, Crystal sscs's, and heard MB's. I just don't know what will sound best in the doors ya know?

I had the JL's and loved them, but after listening to them loudly the tweeters would cut out, which bothered me horribly.

I just don't like Kicker stuff...I've never heard a sub they make that impressed me, and while their components are ok, they're nothing special.

RE and Adire are absolutely top end stuff, and while I've never heard the eDi setup myself, a lot of people like them. Problem with JL stuff is retail price, and the MBs were always a little to harsh for me. I mainly listen to metal, so that was a big issue.

if you want sound quality go with image dynamics. I also agre with the re and adire suggestions.

awesome. I heard the RS kickers and they sounded really good, but that doesn't mean too much since it was nothing but loud rap and not metal type music. I listen to a lot of everything, but alot of hard rock and rap. I just dont' know what to go with. I liked my Crystals, but i had 400 watts per pair and 2 pair in the front of my tahoe (so anything should have sounded good with that much power and dual sets)

Anyone have an opinion on the Kicker SS's? I can get them SUPER cheap and have always heard they are insanely good sounding.

The ones I am most impressed with at work are STILL the type r components by Alpine. Those suckers are as clear as they get, and I think if you hold on a little while, the new design they have will be in stores. You can check it out on thier site, but they are nice, and supposed to be priced at $280 for an AUTHORIZED seller, which can be less than $200 anywhere else

The "old" style goes for something like $130-140 :)

I can get the kicker SS for 285 or so brand new with full warranty. I guess I just think that is a smoking deal since they retail for like 1100
