Well I got some pics of the heads off my truck thanks to my little bro and I need to locate a set of heads for it to be in running shape again. And I figure since I need to buy a set of heads why not go good stuff and buy a cam, intake and new carb set-up for it to make it run like a raped ape?
So I was asking about this earlier and I have decided I just want to go with a set of Vortech heads on my lil 350ci. now I just need help locating a set, i dont really want to buy a brand spanking new set of heads due to alot of cost for a plain old fun truck. Cam I can swing new due to the one I want is only like $279 without a valvetrain.
Now I havent decided on a intake and carb yet but it will prolly end up being a Eldlebrock performer RPM and a Holly 650-800cfm carb.
So basically all im asking is where can i get the heads I need? they can have some work done to them as well cause it doesnt really matter to me. I just dont want to pay $1000+ for a new set of castings.
I looked on summit and it looks like they have about everything I want for under $1000. that is new heads, intake manifold, cam and a 800cfm carb.

Those are the heads you want, but SDPC has much better combo kits on them. They have some killer deals on the vortec conversions.

thats not cheaper by any standard bro...
You can get the heads of summit for $289 for the set, then get an eldlbrock intake st-up with a 800cfm carb for $800 and then a cam to match up for as cheap as $55

here is the intake and carb set-up im lookign into, its a bit more high end which reflects the price but I never pay full price for anything like this. only thing that worries me is the electric choke...im not sure on how that works or if the truck has a manual or electric.
another thing Im worried about is the camshaft selection, im not sure if I need a hydraulic, hydraulic flat tappet, roller tappet, etc....
im dumb when it comes to cams, im not sure what size push rods I will need nor if I will need to switch my lifters out. I got alot of research to do before selecting my cam. but that is more than likyl my head/intake/carb set-up pending the results my lil' bro finds with the current set-up. he is think it already has an Intake.

That is $289 each head from Summit, not a pair.

Our plain Jane Vortec heads are $269 each to their $289. We stock the PerformerEPS, Performer, Performer RPM,RPM Air-Gap, and the TPI Vortec baseplate....you'll find they are all VERY competitively priced :) Name your carburetor, we've got them too and you guessed it....Great pricing! Cheap cams?? 214-224 = $49.99 and the 204-214 = $42.
Anything else I can help with?? :drive:

Aweome! thanks for clearing that up Matt, Can I get the heads worked a little as well? I was think just a basic port & polish job and maybe some oversized valves. nothing to fancy or outragous, just enough to give me some more gitty up! I will be contacting you guys ASAP and just buy everything at once to save on cost and shipping. once again, thanks alot!

We don't do any cylinder head porting in house, but we have options available for you from numerous reputable companies! Give me a call when you're ready and we'll get you moving!!
