I kinda have a problem with key fobs getting destroyed in my pocket so I'm looking into getting Cell Start to go with my remote starter/alarm in my pick up. It's offered through Bull Dog. However, I have not been able to get a clear answer if there is a monthy fee, one place said it cost $1 per incedent, I don't know if an "incedent" is everytime the truck would contact me because the alarm goes off, or it means everytime I use it to start or unlock my truck. I already talked to a Bull Dog sales person and a tech person, neither could give me any solid info. Anymore info would be greatly appreachiated.

Thanks,
Andrew

That looks like a pretty cool little device. Definitely worth looking in to.

Just an idea tho, why not try getting a little clip keychain? (I use the ends of a chain wallet. the little spring clip) Just keep your keys attached on your belt loop. Thats how I do it. Never have any problems with my keys or fobs getting damaged.

No they just break while I'm working. With the way the fob is designed the post will break if they bind in the key chain. It's a bulky 2 way radio fob with a screen, plus I usually have a bunch of other shit in my pockets so that doesn't help. I tried keeping the one I broke last week in my pocket loose, I lost it with in two days.

Today I read that cell start service is $100 a year but I still can't get that confirmed. It's operated by some company out of Holland or somewhere like that and they connect through Cingular wireless.

i believe the cost is pER message. A message being EIther the car contacting you by phone if your car alarm is triggered, or you sending the car a signal or message(AKA to find out where ur stolen car is). The service in my area sells bundles of messages. For example you buy 120 messages for 80$ and u replenish the messages as you use them.
