I run 2 W3V2 D4's. I love em. basically they are about the same speakers with the newer W3V3 only having one voice coil available in specific ohm selections (2,4,8ohm). The W3V2 has either dual 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm dpending on what you choose. I think the V2 might be a little more versatile for this reason if your running more than one sub. You can get away with a lot less wattage to the W3 and still sound great with excellent SQ and reletively high SPL levels.

I'd go with JL 10W3v3 it's rated at 2-ohm.

JL 10W3v2 is a dual 4-ohm.......

What are you looking for???

...which would allow you to wire the dual voice coils in parallel to produce a 2-ohm load.

Well, that may have been what you meant but it's not what you said. Your comment implied that one was 2-ohm while the other was 4-ohm. Perhaps you should be more clear next time.

Dual voice coils can be set up for the same impedance as a single voice coil but they also give more flexibilty when using multiple speakers - that's why you might want to pay more for DVC. Besides, in this case the DVC subs are about $20 cheaper than the SVC ones (probably because they're an older model).

The JL W3V2 is also available in dual 2 ohm version as well. It's the D2 instead of the D4. W3V3 is available in single coil 2, 4, or 8 ohm versions. I still like the versatility of the W3V2 dual coils for different configurations if needed. I do like the way the V3 looks like a W6 or W7 though with the way they did the cone. Although as far as sound goes the old model W3 is still the same shape, rms/peak wattage, sensitivity, etc.

I have the newer w3 the one that looks like the w7. I love it, for a single 10 it pounds amazlying well. I wish I went with a bigger one because, it could be louder and where your crusing it at like 100mph. The JL Componets keep up, but the sub gets drowned out.
