Alright my dad and i have a 80 z28 4 speed manual and we want to make it a weekend car but also take it to the strip. We want to run low 11's high 10's. What is a good shortblock to buy? and why?

Depends on how much you wanna spend.

This is the link to the short block I wanna buy :

I want the "Street Fighter Pro Mod" short block. It retails for 3,199.99. When/if I ever get this, I'm gonna throw a good amount of spray on it. :) MmMmMm, can't wait.

To get a 80 Z/28 in the low 11s/high 10s (unless you gut some weight from it), you'll need about 420-440 rwhp.

I'd suggest a well-built 383 (I have a link in my sig to one I'm selling that should give you a good idea of the parts/cost involved).

A 502hp/502 crate engine with a 150 hp shot of juice could also get you there, but remember a big block adds about 200+ lbs over a good SBC, so keep that in mind when you make your decision.
