We get to see some pretty freaky stuff. This kinda takes the cake.
We had the opportunity to tune this "creation" last summer. The builder is an engineer, with a background in foundry/casting.
Its a small block,383, upright, turned into an outboard!!
He cast the valve covers, as well as the housing that the back of the block bolts to. He made the shaft housing, the tilt/trim/jacking plate. Basically everything except the engine and the "foot".
It is a masterpiece of machine work. And one of the most enjoyable things I've ever tuned.
Thought everyone might enjoy seeing this......

That Is Badass.

Pictures hrdly do it justice. It is really a work of art. My partner is a machinist of 25 years. I have a couple years machine shop/manufacturing exp. Both of us were VERY impressed with the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
As is anyone else that has seen it in person.

I say the same things to guys who race bikes. I don't wanna be on one when they throw a rod.

Yep, looks like it was built by an engineer to me.....

I work with 200 of those characters everyday and that is definitely some over-engineering :jest:

I bet you do see some S~T~R~A~N~G~E stuff Ed. Definitely a head turner on the water, I'm sure.
