ok people i got a drivers side stealth sub thump by mtx and it quit working, it of course is out of warranty so i called up a number i got for replacment parts anyhow inside the sub thump box is a amp and pre amp circuit boards something burned up im guessing os i was goign ot get both boards ot be safe and fix my problem ....so i ask her for prices then she hits me with the pre amp $96.00 and amp for $34.00 .............yikes !!!!!!!! anybody ever had this problem and how did you fix your problem? i need some help badly........ thanks

well first off, let's not confuse people by referring to your MTX box as a subthump. Subthump is an entirely different company making custom vehicle enclosures. I know Steve from Subthump doesn't post here, but if I was him, I'd want to make sure people with other companies products were not claiming they were mine, and confusing other potential users.
to your issue, if your built in amp is fried, besides replacing with the parts you've listed, only other option is to install a real amp, but it will end up costing more then what you listed.

well my question is with the original stuff replaced does it have enough bump for my to notice..... lol im not saying pounding glass shaking outside stuff...i mean i replaced all factory speakers with alpines and infinity's ....all i have is 4 speakers total 2 infinity's in the doors and 2 alpines in the sail panels with the wires from the hatch powering the alpines so i had the original sailpanel wires not being used ...i spliced in a rca convertor and was planning on installing this but the boards in the mtx box are fried ( were like that i guess fro the guy i bought it from lol guess thatswhy it was so cheap though im not complaning on that part .....i just wanna know will i be able to notice the bass in the car with the original stuff or should i just mod it a with a new amp and so on ............???? and ow yeah sorry about the confusion its a box made my mtx similar to a subthump box but made out of hard molded plastic
