Ok here it goes...
I have an 02 z28 with the whole monsoon setup... When I play a cd only the right speakers work.. :bang: When I just have radio on all speakers work... Also I do however prob need to replace all the speakers becuase they sound completely shot.. Or perhaps I have an wiring issue that make them sound dead and rattle not sure.... Any way I have no problem grabbing junk speakers from Best buy or whatever but the CD thing has me wondering if the head unit is bad and maybe i ned to replace the entire system... Anyone have the CD problem before?
Thanks

Sounds to me like you might as well just replace it all.

Well, you know that all of the speakers work; they either work or they don't. The amplifier is amplifying all the speakers that work correctly, So that is probably not the problem. I would bet that it is an internal problem with the deck. I would look on Ebay for a replacement factory deck, or replace the entire system.

Whatever! :)
What I meant was if all the speakers work fine in one of the modes of operation, the factory speaker wiring is probably alright. It's not like the deck outputs a different signal that the amp can detect between radio and CD modes. Of course speakers can be intermittent because they're messed up... But that would be accompained by distortion because the voice coil would be jacked up. Additionally, if the speakers were messed up, they would exhibit the same symptoms in All modes (CD, radio, etc.)

ya, but he's correct. What has probably happened, is that the amplifier in your head unit is working fine however either the preamp isn't, or the cd pickup laser isn't. Either way, you're outta luck.
