The factory rear speaker is a 6.5" coaxial speaker. It's depth is about 1.25". It's labeled 10 ohms on the back. What has anyone used to replace this non-monsoon speaker?

You can use anything you want, standard 4 ohm is ok. I wouldn't spend a lot of money because it is free air (no bass) and therefore it just needs to have clear mids and a nice tweeter.

Use a spacer to make sure it clears your top frame, and be careful with the screws because if they are too long you can snag your top.

Spend your money on the fronts. Fronts do everything in verts.

I didn't know if there was a super-shallow speaker anyone was using. I have a 4 ohm speaker, it was too deep, though. I'll find one that isn't as deep and build a trim ring.

Theres a lot of clearance between the speaker and the trim panel/grille. Your existing speaker might work, test fit it (assuming using a thick spacer) before bothering with buying new speakers.

Really the backs aren't doing much. I've thought about making a plate and fitting a 4" mid and tweeter back there, and if I was starting from scratch that is prolly what I'd do.
