Default Can I get a #'s from Home ports, Stage 1, and stock valved cars?

What I am looking for is cam, headers, gears, raceweight, tires, dyno #'s, tb, flywheel, etc used.. Your 1/4 times would be nice.. I know of 2 peeps that run low 11's or better with stock valves.. I would like to know of others and what their combo is.. My stats are in my sig..

Jantzer is on stock valves, not a very good comparison to your car though because of the weight and tranny difference.

Not really a comparison to my car, but what others are doing to achieve their stated goals..

Vince, when did you switch to TEA heads? Have you dyno'd with the new heads? I don't recall your old numbers right off the top.

My H&C package isn't installed yet...so I'm afraid I have no data yet to share.

Hey Vince,
I built an S1 stock valved A4 4,200 stall car with a 218 low lift cam that ran 11.4x with me driving it at app 3,550? lbs, then switched to the TR 224 cam and I ran the best of 11.36 at 118+ letting out of the throttle about 75 feet out. rolled back into the throttle to re-gain control. The car was quasi tunned but the trans had issues, we never got to finish that package. It only dynoed in shy of 380 RWH through 3:73 10 bolt and a 4,200 stall, it had a very sharp and steady torque curve and I think thats where all the ET was comming from because it would definatly leave the 60 very hard. I finished a S1 stock valved TR224 M6 Formula 3,475? with 4.10 gears that ran the best of 11.71 at 121 with 4.10 gears and BFG drags. This car dynoed 411/389 @ 6,100/4,600 through the 10 bolt with 4.10's. Stock valves kick *** if you know how to port them in, they will yeild S2 flow numbers 470 lift and lower with no problem. I recently ported a set of S2 runner LS1 heads with stock valves that actually out flow any 2.02, 2.05, 2.08 valve but it's impracticle because the hp figures that those flow numbers can generate and spring pressure that has to be used to run that rpm band, the friction weld on the stock 2 piece valve won't, and will break over time so... the Ferrea 2.02 one piece stanless valves had to be used but at the expence of 12 gross cfm within the cam lift area but had to be sacrificed for durability. Stock valves work great, but it's playing with fire to an extent.

Joe.

6.0 L home port
Ferrea 2.02/1.55 valves, standard 3 angle local machine shop seat grind
milled 0.030 yielding 63.5 cc combustion chamber
214 cc intake ports

With stock tuning, no ASP pulley, stock MAF, and LS1 intake, 386 rwhp, I believe torque was 375.
Approx. 20 rwhp increase vs. before adding heads.

First time ever at a drag strip, street radials
best 12.66et, 2.2 60', 115mph best trap, consistant 114's all night. I forget the conditions but it was mid summer here in Raleigh, maybe 85F.

Hope this helps.

I haven't had alot of time to surf on here, but here is what I'm running or did run. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Home ported stage I heads, about 210cc or so, still has the rocker bumps in the intake ports, unmodified stock intake valves, 1.57 rev (no backcut) exaust valves, .030 milled, stock pushrods, comp 981-16 (not 918's) springs, and a pretty tame MMS224 .535 lift cam.

Strong & reliable for over 3 years. I think the ports flowed around 270-280 at .550 and 210 or so on the exaust side.

Don't underestimate the value of lightweight valvetrain especially considering the majority of the flow to be gained with larger valves & heavier pieces is offset with the intake manifold restriction.

Very well put Scott!People should not fixate on one aspect like MAX FLOW. Select ingredients make the best performance.
