Stereo & Electronics - aftermarket hu installed=no sound from sailpanel speakers

Just installed a alpine hu and now I have no sound from the sailpanel speakers. Is this normal and how do I fix this?

No, it's not normal. Start by checking over your wiring, I guess? I dunno. Do all your other speakers work, including hatch?

When I put the factory deck back in all the speakers started working again

If your using a wireharness check to see if all the wires are pushed into both sides(male and female)of the harness. If that doesn't do it double check to make sure it the correct harness for your car. If your not using a harness take a seperate speaker and hook it up directly to the h.u. to make sure it doesn't have any blow channels.

Maybe Monsoon is touchy and you guys aren't disconnecting the battery first and something weird is happening? I don't know -- can't think of a reason why so many have zero problems and so many others have blown sails after messing with the system....

I wouldn't consider sail panel speakers "rear fill" and getting comps to put out the bass sail panel speakers are capable of is very unlikely.

I've tried taking shortcuts before - no wires crossed, etc and I have had fuses blow twice in two different f-bods.

How much sense does that make since nothing was on during the install? (and there was nothing being done at the HU or anywhere where there is a constant batt)........
