I put an bmr k-member 4 the sbc conversion in my 02 trans am. After dropping the motor and trans in the trans mount is 1 inch off from lining up with the crossmember. The motor needs 2 come up1 inch towards the front of the car for mount to work. Also the drive shaft is pushed all the way 2 the tail shaft on trans. I measured my friends car with a carbed lt1 and his motor sat exactly 1 inch farther up than mine. Does anyone no if there are problems with the bmr member?also the motor needs to come over towards the driver side about a half inch to make header fit around steering arm.Any ideas on what I can try?

Make sure your mounts are turned the right way. I had mine on backwards the first time as I lowered the motor in. Switched them around and everything lined up. Everything fit perfect except for the passenger side header hitting the lower part of the firewall where the HVAC box used to be.

Make sure the motor mounts are kind of facing forward an the motor. If you bolt the mounts on backwards it will cause the problem you are describing. Another trick is to leave the motor mounts loose and use the transmission crossmember to locate the motor then bolt the motor down tight.
