Small Block & Big Block Chevy Specific - zz1 rev limiter?

i have a zz1 with rhs 180 heads, victor jr intake, proform 750 carb, walbro 340 pump, and 550/550 230/230 108lsa. It always runs into what feels like a rev limiter at 4800-5000 rpms. Does the stock distributor have a rev limiter? I think my setup should be good to about 6k, any insight would be great, thanks.

Your stock dizzy shouldn't have a limiter. What valve springs are you using? You may be experiencing valve float. Also, a stock GM HEI (assumption of what you're running) is known to start breaking up over 5000rpm. If you want to turn 6k, you need a better coil/module.

Thanks bro, the valvetrain is solid so it must be the stock coil/module.
