Well I finally got my gen 1 SBC into my 94 and now I am looking to make it into a fun weekend car. I am planning on getting gears, a cam and a converter and then going from there. Keep in mind I'm building this car to prove how cheap I can do it to the company I worked for when I started the project in january, I have got most of the parts used. Thank god I'm a mechanic and can do everything myself. Total cost for parts so far is just under $1800,(yes its basically complete) I have got allot of stuff used and gotten great deals on top of that. I wont go into everything unless people ask but lets just say I have allot of friends. I have also kept track of the labor and if I were to be paying for all the work I would have had to shell out $10,125 so far on top of $3500+ worth of parts had I paid full price.

The engine is a GM goodwrench crate motor-
350cid 4 bold main
8.5:1 compression ratio
76cc combustion chambers
hydraulic flat tappet .450"/.460" 114°

I am running a turbo 400 BTW.

Other than a cam the engine will remain in its current state till it gets a complete build over the winter.

I'm totally open to suggestions...
Thanks in advance.

This is the only picture I have right now, I'll take more eventually... Yes it is a cell phone picture.

Sounds like a good deal, congrats on getting it together!

You may want to line out any budgets or goals you'd like to accomplish before asking for suggestions. This way the ideas will stay more on course with your intentions versus off-the-wall ideas that may not be up your alley!

Good luck and have fun with her!

Aluminum heads, more compression, hydraulic roller conversion (if needed I know some of the GM motors can accept them), longtube headers, exhaust, intake, carb, pulleys, stall, gears, suspension. The list goes on and on. It's up to you how far you want to take it.

Like I said all I want to do till winter is get a stall, gears and a cam. So I'd like suggestions of what will go good together with the rest of my motor and make for a fun weekend car. These are the only 3 things that I'll be doing.

leave the motor as is and put a intercooled turbo setup on it....
you could probably get away with 10# boost without hurting the cast pistons since it has such low compression, and the little flat tappet hydro cams work great for the turbo, too.

lotta money tho. lol
