Automotive News, Media & Press - Who's been in GMHTP?

I really love the magazine (GM High Tech Performance) and I have seen just a small amount of guys that mention an article or whatever.

But I got to think with all the bad ass late model GMs on this site, that quite a few people have been in it.

Let me know what issue you were in and what section. I don't care if it was a cover story, featured article, or the hometown section at the back, just post it up. I think it's pretty cool, and maybe someday I'll send 'em a pick for the hometown section.

Last year on the cover and inside. We had our 98 silver WS6 and 02 collectors edition. It was the december 06 / 10 anniversary issue.

Some time in early/mid 2005 my Z28 was in there twice in a row actually, once it was an unexpected surprise in the back pages (rear quarter shot on the dyno) for a small write up on the new at the time Brisk spark plugs.
And the very next issue was the one that I knew was coming...an install/dyno article on QTP long tube headers, QTP Y-pipe and QTP electronic cut out (all of which are still on the car now and doing awesome by the way :nod: ).
It was small but I was still honored to finally have a car of mine featured at least a tiny bit in a magazine that I'd not only been reading regularly since 1998 but that actually helped influence me to even buy this mighty LS1 F-body in the first place. :drive:

Mine was supposed to be in there for a tech article but not sure if it ever made it.

My 05 GMC duramax dually was supposed to be in one of the magazines for an NOS tech article, but not sure if it was ever printed either.

But I do know for a fact that my dyno shop was listed in a tech article in Chevy High, and my banner was on the windshield of a car on PINKS.

I was back in 98 before all the big shots on here ;)

I was in High performance Pontiac and Hotrod, never made it into GMHTP tho :(

I was in the Street Heat section in the Janurary 07 issue.

how do you go about getting in one of these? id like too even tho my car is stock its kinda special....

My Gold Z was in both GMHTP and Hot Rod.

High performance pontiac November 2007 not out yet but will have a 2 1/2 pages feature called "Me and my pontiac" Living the dream in a sunset orange metallic trans am. :) :drive: :chug: :devil:

My sister puts a pic of her vette in every issue of vette. Did the samething in corvette fever. :)

I was in the apr 2006 issue and Tony (nineball) did an awesome write up on me :)

From writing Rick Jenson (the editor), it seems it takes quite a bit these days to make the magazine, let alone the cover.

None the less, I will be joining the long list of people to try anyway. My odds are even worse as I will be submitting my old 95 LT1 car. The only thing I have working for me, is that my car is more heavily modded than most that make the magazine cover (with the exception of the drag cars). I am hoping that the $65,000+ I have invested over the years will help my chances.

I've been in GMHTP a few times, just a small pic and mentio from winning a race or two.

Been on the cover of high performace pontiac and had a nice feature (12/06), if you have a pontiac sign up for one of their 'pavement pounder' dragstrip deals they do a few times a year and you are guaranteed a couple pages of coverage for that. Doensnt have to be a fast all out drag car either, just something you are willing to make a few passes with. I was surprised when they put mine on the cover..

Naturally if you have a Camaro that wont work :)

I thought you got a 383 stroker with DP N20? Hmmm must be another car...

I was in a GMHTP shootout event they held at the Texas Motorplex in late '04 I believe. That magazine came out in June or July of '05. Tony Shepard represented the LT1's better than I did for sure though.

I was in the last issue doing the c6 clutch install. I was the guy in the otis gear hehehe. My friend Chris Werner is a writer for them I have been in alot of articles that he has wrote. And Rick Jenson Scott Parker frequents the shop im with TTPerformance.
