I am going to be putting a p600b procharger kit on my zz1 and i was wondering what a safe boost level would be. It is 8.8:1 compression and already has a mls hg and head studs, my mods are in my sig.

Are you running hyper or forged pistons?

I'd say 10lbs if you want to err on the safe side. I've been running 8lbs on my gm350ho crate engine w/ 9.1:1 compression. Timing reduction will be critical to avoiding detonation. I'm using a msd boost timing master that pulls out around 1.3 degrees per pound of boost. The btm is adjustable, it can pull from .1 to 3 degrees per pound of boost it sees and also lets you adjust the initial reduction as soon as it sees any boost (0,2,4lbs if i recall). Keep your afr's nice and fat and get a good carb hat (low profile procharger hat sucks) Extreme velocity makes a nice hat but its pretty pricey to boot. Good luck.

Oh, and if you plan on running a front mount intercooler or methanol injection I'd say you can go as high as 14lbs.

6-8 lbs with hyper"craptic" pistons. Speed Pro makes cheap blower pistons that a dished and forged, think about swapping them out if your serious about making alot of boost.
