A Buddy of mine bought a 1989 Corvette and with it came a 1984 parts car.

The parts car was missing wheels, Hood, MOTOR, and some interior. My buddy is offering me the 84 Corvette.

1.) Would you take a free vette like this?

2.) How much would it cost to get a motor and wheels for this?

3.) What motor options are available besides the crossfire stuff, Crate motors?

4.) Or sell it on Ebay as a parts car for 2k or less lol.

#4. The 1984 Corvette gets no love in most places, and usually isn't worth much at all. Even if you got it running and driving again, you'd spend waaay more than it's worth.

Free cars are like free dogs. Yeah, they're free, but they cost a lot more in the long run. ;)

demo derby.. it was free why the hell not. cant keep all of them and youll get a nice night of attention from trashing a vette :judge:

thats just me though i have enough junk laying around i could see that happen for praticaly free

So I take it, all the generation 1 2 and 3 blocks will bolt straight up to this vette?

its the idea that counts :) not many could say they put a vette in a derby i know id be mighty tempted!! even if if breaks in half from a pinto hitting it.

lol, I'm leaning toward selling it on Ebay starting at 1,500. Use that money to tune up my wifes z24 and buy a 1080p tv. :)

I'm saving for a new Mustang once they make the 5.0 standard in a SOHC 3v. And I would rather have a 1999 fixed roof corvette to tinke with.

I just got back from looking at the Vette. Here is what it has... Not.

Broken front window
Not top
Roof trunk with no carpet
interior with no carpet
no seats or center console
fungus and rust (were rust can be found)
No hood
no front bumper
holes in rear qtr panel
chiped up rear bumper
no gas lid or cap (had racing style race cap that buddy took off) Big metal flip switch thing
All electronics missing in engine bay or corrioded beyond care

Yea, he said I could have it but I said no thanks. That thing couldn't sell for more then $500 bucks and wasn't worth tolling something with no wheels.

Yeah, there usually is a reason for it being free :P

Id pass it by and save your cash for something you actually want.
