Hey whats up all ls1tech people, I was just wondering how many of you guys are going on the Hot Rod Power Tour in 2008? I live In Lincoln, Nebraska and wanted to know if any of you guys were cruising on through my town? I thought I might join, but yeah all this came up b/c we had our big yearly cruise which is called Americruise and this Hot Rod Power Tour was listed in the same section of the newspaper. Well anyways lets see some cars that are going to go on the cruise.

I'm planning the Long Haul for '08. Coming from NW Florida...

i am in sioux city and HOPE to make the long haul

i would like to know more info on everything and where i sign up to get that sweet sticker and go on the nice cruise =).

When time gets closer, www.hotrod.com/powertour (http://www.hotrod.com/powertour) is where you register. For info on what people are talking about regarding the tour, forums.hotrod.com is the place to go. The forum is a pain to look at, their format is terrible, but the info is decent. There's also a post saying where it's heading, I also posted the same tentative route in another thread. It's a blast and well worth the pains :)

coming from philadelphia and plannin on doin the long haul as of now.

I think we should create a list of people going as time nears to next June and maybe pull some group rate hotels and have a good crowd to hang and cruise with if everyone's willing to commit.

I will definatly be there. It starts in my back yard. I did long haul last year it was alot of fun. It started out being the shower tour. The first three days it rained.

I started in Evansville, lots of fun. I'm planning on the Long Haul in '08. Hopefully it won't rain too bad, but it is in the middle of the country, so we'll see.

Sounds good. When the time gets closer, maybe towards this winter after Hot Rod posts the official route, I'll create an "offical" PowerTour thread. Maybe then we can all organize ourselves and get a good cruise going.

so i can't find it on hotrods site any definate route for next year yet? or a starting date? need to get work figured out and a date to have the car ready for a big trip

I heard a rumor on the HotRod forum that they should be posting the offical route soon. Here's the projected dates from a leak during the tour: June 7-14.

if that really is the route could you post up on here and let us know. so i can make true plans on going. that time of the year would be awesome and it's going right through my part of the country too

if i still have my T/A by the tour next year, i plan on making the first few stops at least. i don't feel like goin back to WI again after just coming from up there this year

I am planning on going on the 2008 Power Tour, any idea of the average cost for the tour, rooms, fuel, food, and fun?

Cost is dependent upon how you travel, where, and with whom you travel - Memphis was pretty expensive for me last year with wife and 14 year old son who plays guitar even though we lucked into sharing a cabin in a state park with a couple other tourers at a cost to us of $25 for the night ;) But the whole tour cost me bout 1500 and that was with missing first 2 nights and 1 night at home since I live near Springfield, IL venue. A number of people usually camp out also and do it on the cheap if there is such a thing - had a few camp at our place last year when the tour stopped

Good info will be available on the Hot Rod forums in the Power Tour section, takes a little while for it to accumulate though since they just recently released the official schedule

I went the hotel route, too hot for me to camp, and that was the most expensive part. Start saving some $$$ now, and by the time you have to pay, it doesn't hurt too bad :)

Oh yeah, hopefully the Tour Curse won't hit you with broken parts....I got popped with minor breakage...damn sensors.

Its coming through my town about midway into it but ill start off on the first day. Now i just got to get all my slack ass friends to get their cars done.....

just for the hell of it im going to ask what track they will run in springfield, MO
when i was out there the only track i knew about and went to sucked.

unless im in iraq or somwthing crazy i really want to take my old man on a cruise across the country and do some racing. i think this would be perfect.

When do they post routes between the cities? I am planning on a couple of days of the tour. I happen to live on a highway between ames and rochester so I was wondering if it was going past my house!

I'll be in lincoln since I live there. Hopefully I'll have the project car closer to being done or at least the exterior done.

The HRPT is the best I would not miss it for anything..great people, kool cars, and the untimate road trip adventure seeing the good ol USA ..:drive::thumb:

I'm planning on doing the Long Haul. I'm probably going to register tomorrow. I just now talked one of my buddies into being my co-pilot and now that I have the SS I'll have something fun to take.

Just made sure I had the days off today. Ill be on the Springfield, Topeka and Lincoln stops.

I'm really shooting to have this turbo setup done and be putting some miles on the new motor around that time. I really want to leave out for little rock with some local club members Friday June 6th in the afternoon and go on the tour from the 7-9 up through topeka and back to Norman, OK (home) that afternoon/evening.

There's a group of us doing the little rock to topeka trip. We're staying the night in Topeka for sure though! :chug:

Im thinking about doing a few days. Im thinking Lincoln, NE or Ames to the end. I havent decided yet.

My husband and I did the Tour last year for our Honeymoon. It kicked ass. :D

We're still trying to decide if we're long hauling it this year. :)
