When I turn my steering wheel to the right my volume goes up, when I turn my steering wheel to the left the volume goes down. It has only been a couple of days but it driving me crazy. I haven't changed anything and it is completely stock. Has anyone had this happen b4?

The most obvious is that you have a short in the steering column that is affecting the steering wheel controls for your stereo. It is either that or the control itself is damaged in some way affecting it as well. New steering volume controls can be had by gm parts direct or sometimes on ebay. Do the controls act normal when you are not moving? If so then I'd guess that the wiring connecting the controls to the radio are bad somewhere.

Mostly when I turn but, sometimes when I am going striaght. Is there a way I could just disconnect it?

Yep. the radio controls just pry out of the steering wheel. You can use a small flathead screw driver. Then you'd be able to disconnect it. By the controls I mean the entire little triangle of buttons, not just the volume itself.

An easier way to disconnect it is to remove the blue wire from the harness at the radio. The controls will still be in the wheel but they just won't do anything.

Just carefully pull the front bezel off from around the radio/ac controls then use a nut driver....can't remember what size...I think it is a 7mm-8mm to remove the 4 screws holding the radio in place. It just slides out after that.

There are two dark blue wires in the radio connector. The one you want is the one that doesn't have any wires in the pins beside it. The other dark blue wire has a light blue and a yellow wire on either side - it goes to the right rear speaker so don't disconnect it.
