Stereo & Electronics - 3 way fan switch

I want to run a 3 way switch for my fans. my car is a 94 lt1 car. lt1 tech is messed up for me right now. im not sure if the ls1 uses the same fans or not but it has a high and a low resistor for both speeds. i want to run a high, low, and reg. (off of the therostat) switch. i just want to know what it takes and how hard it is to do. i know it would be a lot easier if low=1 fan and high=2fans running but i guess both fans run low or high. neways, thanks for any insight or help.

I don't see how this is advanced performance, but there are a lot of kits on the market that will control the fans on a three way switch. SLP makes one, and there are a bunch on ebay.

As for ease of install, it depends on what you buy, some are as easy as 4 wires and others are significantly harder. None are anything past about a 4 of 10 on difficulty.

as far as putting this in advanced performance, i did it cuz i figured maybe more wise/knowledgeable people would view this forum. and noone has even responded in newbie/tech. im not an idiot, i just wanted to hear other peoples experiences. thank you for the response though. now i will search ebay.

SLP has a nice little setup for your purpose, except they want a retarded amount of money for it. there is an easier way. on the lt1 cars, the fans are controlled by three relays. for low speed fan use, the PCM activates relay one via the negative side of the control circuit of the relay. for high speed fan use, the PCM turns off relay one and switches on relays 2 and 3 the same way. the negative side of the relay control circuit splice into one at the PCM, so when that is completed, both relays activate, and the fans come on at high speed. if you want control over your fans, pull the fuse panel apart, and connect those two wires to anther wire that runs through a basic switch and leads to any ground. all this does is give the power an alternate patch to ground wich you contol. it only takes about 10 minutes and a soldering gun.
