Stereo & Electronics - anyone has has stock speakers and aftermarket cd player

ok so i was thinking of putting in a indash dvd-rollout-for the LADIES :jest:
now i like the way my factory sound is. i'm not affraid of loosing volume quality-but stock bass. i dont Pound my stock speakers but i put it about half way up. ive noticed with most aftermarket cd player adjusting to get bass that sounds good is realitively hard. anyone got a cd player that still bangs the block lol

If you have a Monsoon system, just wire up a new head unit to the stock wiring and the system will continue to use the Monsoon amplifier. That will give you at least as much bass as you have now and the sound quality (including the bass) will be much better. You'll actually should be able to get louder bass since it won't be getting distorted by the crappy stock HU.

I agree, I have an aftermarket head unit, its not a fancy touch display or anything, its a pioneer model that has built in graphics, it does sound much better than stock.:)

your SQ will definitely increase without the Delco unit's distortion... and you *should* have all the bass you have now... however.....Monsoon is so f'd up, that some claim sails to blow/stop working/channel failure/ you name it..... the majority have no problems....but dont underestimate the beast :devil:

When I installed the pioneer head unit in my car I used the harness that you plug into the factory harness to avoid splicing the stock harness. By doing that, it somehow eliminated the Monsoon amp and sail panel subs. i had to trace a wire all the way back to the amp and bypass it with a wire that goes to the rear speakers, this enables the amp and subs again, it works great and has been sounding very nice for a stock system with aftermarket HU.
