Free air drivers REQUIRE a total seal between the face and the back of the driver, like mounting 'em on a big sheet of plywood.

You want bass, you NEED an enclosure. Sail panel is not gonna cut it.

I have CDT EF-8 8" subs in my sails and I actually regret it to an extent. Not that it doesn't sound good...it does, however, putting a good quality 6.75" midwoofer like a CDT M-6 or M-6+ would have been just as functional and sound just as good. In order to get a 8" sub in that location took cutting the sail panel metal and using a spacer for depth issues. Getting a 10" sub in that location would just be silly. I have 2 stealth enclosures I use with RE Audio SE10's. I have also used the CDT EF-100 sub in that location as a single 10" sub. The RE's have a deeper bass and the CDT's have much tighter bass. I'd go the traditional route with a stealth enclosure or a well enclosure for your subs and midwoofers in the sails. This coupled with aftermarket power would do well.

id rather have a much smaller speaker in the right airspace then a freeair. Just my opinion
