Anyone know what happened to the write up about making the low beems stay on when you click the hi's? It's been about 4 years since I've done it...

The changes you will have to make will be at the high beam switch. You would have to connect the low beam feed wire to the wire feeding power into the high beam switch. This would permanantly supply power to the low beams with the headlights on and use the high beam switch only as a switch to turn on the high beams. I hope you don't have to pass a yearly inspection though, as it would never pass in any state.

Re'Now why would you say that? There is no law in any state that prevents having the low beams on at the same time as the high beams - otherwise every Firebird would be illegal. Most states limit the number of forward facing white lights to four, which is why the fog lights turn off when you switch to highbeam.

The fog lights won't turn off when you do it either though. But no, there is not inspection of any sort for us.

Two different and separate modifications - leaving lowbeams on with highbeams and leaving fog lights on with highbeams. Your fog lights will turn off when you turn on the highbeams even after you do the mod to leave the lowbeams on. That's because the fog light relay grounds through the highbeam circuit - when the highbeams are on there is power instead of ground on the ground side of the fog light relay so the fog lights turn off.
