Close the Thread - I am about to rant :wrongforu
Wally Parks is dead and no one noticed or cared - Fact
Founded the NHRA in 1951. If drag racing hadn't become popular do you think there would have ever been any performance vehicles built? :chug:
Many of you rag about age. Hopefully one day you'll all reach an age that today you might consider old. Hopefully one day you all will accomplish everything you set out to do. Hopefully one day you'll be known for doing something.

Unfortunately, many great people and their achivements get washed out with all the BS who is dating who news being splattered on the airwaves 24/7.
Your thread didn't go unnoticed.
I watch the news every 2-3 days and never heard anything about it.

For anyone interested try NHRA's web page for more about Mr. Parks.
Loks like John Force will be staying in the hospital.
In my eyes this was a tough NHRA season.

Perhaps the interest in the Force accident this close to the end of the seasons end will cause a few more folks to go or follow the end of the racing season.
I rag on folks here that street race and never go or race at the track. Many of the old folks I raced with and won Division 3 championships with don't currently race any longer. Many of the kids today don't have the money to race. The cost of racing increases each year.
The thought of this makes me angry. This is a Camaro web page. How many of you are going to go out and plop down 35k for a new Camaro? The sport, drag racing, is dying. I am an angry old man. News like this, Mr. Parks is gone, makes me madder. Britney the bitch is all over the news. Force made the headlines one day. Mr. Parks never made the headlines.
Enjoy your electric cars kids. I intend on kicking and fighting all the way to my grave.

Can't let this close yet. It's interesting to see how many times a thread is read. Many true racing threads go unread. It appears few follow the NHRA, or everyone interested in racing was in Florida watching it rain.
