Old news I'm sure. General Motors Corp.'s Buick brand became the first brand in more than a dozen years to tie Toyota Motor Corp.'s Lexus unit for top spot in a closely-watched study on vehicle durability, marking a significant step for the No. 1 U.S. auto maker as it works to regain credibility with American buyers.

Not in China and Buick is the top selling car there. Buick is really a shining spot for GM right now.
China is supposed to surpass America in demand for cars in the next few years.

That is still pretty funny though.

Probably, but i'm 24 and love my buick, sometimes more than the TA. Something about smoking a fast car in a 12 second 4 door buick

Either way, the average age is dropping yearly, average age for the Enclave buyer is low 30s, it's actually pretty funny to see a young couple come into the dealer and ask to look at a Buick.

This is the buick that could save the brand, if they ever bring it here.

Oh my God I'm in love! My parents own a '04(?) LaSabre Custom and I'll damned if the thing doesn't run perfect after 111k. It has absolutely no reliability issues, been relatively free of maintenance blunders (breaks/rotors only issue) and well, just flawless! Here's to GM and successful product lines!

Bring me that Chinese park avenue....made in America with my name on it! I'm ready to buy.

That Buick is sweet. They really need to bring that to the States.

Anyways, that article is pretty deciptive. You cant compare vehicles, that arent compared in sales. Of course that less vehicles that are presented, the less vehicles that are proned to be misused.

So when Toyota and Honda were making less cars then GM, they shouldn't have scored that well in qualtiy.

That would be true if they werent rated in problems per 100 vehicles, so in other words the other vehicles have a higher percentage of problems. Actually if they are making more of a vehicle it should have a lower percentage of problems since they are getting plenty of practice making them.

Its not about the people making them, its what type of abuse these vehicles are taking. And considering the demographic target of Buick vs Toyota, it should be pretty close. Most Buick owners are in their late 40's early 50's, with a large majority in their 60's+. Make no mistake, I like Buick and Im in love with the one above, but I dont consider this a real conscensus

Retard, I don't see many people hammering on there Camary or Corolla. Those cars are just like Buick. No one buys a Toyota to beat on it dumb ass.

You truely are the king of Toyota love...

Funny you are the only guy I aruge with and personally insult on the internet. Which makes me just as big of an ass as you. So cheers to you Faggotfivepsi.

So it was about the number of vehicles before, but now since that was discounted it is about the owners? You think that people in their Mid 30's-40's are easier on their cars than old people who cant see or hear? Or who dont maintain their cars?

I hear the Camry, Avalon, Echo, etc are real popular with the teenage crowd.:eyes:

Oh yeah, almost forgot, they were ranked with Lexus. I suppose that it is nothing but poor, inner-city teens beating the hell out of those.

the problem is that gm doesnt, or at least hasnt advertised this in the past, they should be announcing it because i know that 99% of people have no idea their reliability is that good

THANK YOU!! If it were the Nippon Giant's ad agencies, they would NOT LET YOU FORGET IT! We would be sooo bombarded with "epitome of perfection" :eyes: and "gold standard superiority" :eyes: ads from them that we would :barf::rice: After all, TOY/Japan, Inc. must keep up the lemming/sheeple brainwashing of the U.S. public, whether reality or not.

^:werd: on GM not promoting the brand's reliability. That should be their #1 marketing priority, because lets face it:

They can't market on performance because there is none.

They can't market on style(except the Enclave), because there is none.

They can market on luxury, but nobody really buys a Buick for status, prestige, or an inferiority complex.

Reliability is really Buick's #1 attribute IMO and yet GM's marketers don't get it. Another example of how GM can manage to screw up something its doing right.

That Chinese Buick looks great, and it's based on the G8/Camaro platform!?!?

WHY THE HELL ISN'T IT HERE!!!!

GM has to be one of the most idiotic companies in the world.

And in one years time we put right under 100k on it . Started out 30k -130k and ran absolutley perfect no troubles ever.. New tires and brake pads and that was it..

They need to make a new grand national..

you know 90% of this "buick reliability" is BS this has been feed to the us public for years.

lets take a closer look at the 2001 buick century, it is a "W body"

now lets see what are the common "problems" the 2001 "W body" grand prix's have...... blower resistors, window motors, wheel bearings. now let check part numbers.... ooops they happen to be the same used in buick and pontiac ??????

now tell me how the buick is more reliable? it's all in your head guys. if we where talking about cars that used differant parts that I would belive but anything else is just proof you have been brain washed :eyes:

it's the same as saying a firebird is more reliable than a camaro

I agree with your logic and have had the same opinion about Consumer Reports reviews. The difference is this is data collected from owners of the actual vehicles and how many problems were experienced per 100 vehicles sold. These are not opinions but factual data that has been collected. Regardless of what you believe to be true or untrue this is impartial 3rd party data.

All the people who responded would have to be brainwashed, do you believe that to be fact?
