Yep pretty new here, currently got a smallblocked s10. Wondering if anybody here has done a carburated ls motor? I was looking into picking up a 6.0 truck motor with a hot cam and springs and maybe doing a carburated swap. Just don't want to have to mess with all the wiring with the fuel injection. I would love to to fuel injection but it just seems frustrating. Just looking to build a street/track truck, not really a driver. I see they have those carburated intake/msd setups they sell through jegs. Is that all I would need to buy to make it run with a carburator?

There's lots of carb'd lsx setups running around. Search for 'carb' in the Honversions & Hybrids section and you'll find answers to your questions.:D

I would love to go fuel injection. I just don't want to spend a crazy amount of money on an s10 plus I like the oldschool muscle look under the hood. I can tune a carburator but the fuel injection sounds like a headache. I would rather just go buy a ls1 camaro or firebird and modify that instead of frankenstiening an s10. I would love to find a '66-'67 chevy nova II and do a fuel injected ls motor someday though.

You could probably negotiate a wiring harness and ECM when you buy the motor.

With fuel injection, would the ls factory wiring harness have to be conected or "spliced" into the s10 fuse block and/or wiring harness? I don't want to be reading codes all the time and worrying about all the electrical circuits to give me trouble. I found this on jegs and I think its what im looking for. What do you guys think. This should fire the motor and operate the coilpacks and read the sensors?

The factory computer and harness are not in my s10 as we speak so thats another reason I want to go carbureted.
