Ive done alot of searching over the last few days and ive found mixed responses. Im starting a new project of putting a Carb'd 383 gen 1 into a 95 v6 firebird. So far ive found BMR and PA make K members. Im trying to do the whole project for under 3k total investment (already had the motor and got the car dirt cheap). I have a stock 98 ls1 k mamber laying around also. Ive heard of the appletree racing conversion mounts but i cant find them anywhere. Ive also looked into the madman motor plates but i want to save this as my last option. What would be the cheapest way to do this? how well would the LT1 mounts hold up with only 2 bolts holding them in? Thanks.

I am wanting to install a GEN I in my 95, allot of people i talked to said they had no problems with 2 bolts on each side. Dont plan on pulling the tires do you?

ummmm...lol, its going to probably be either nitrous car or a turbo car. if i go turbo i wont be that worried about pulling the front tires

Get a motor plate from Madman. Will alleviate the header clearance issue at the same time.

Just a thought, but if he's going sbc,he should just be able to use a set of lt1 headers for the f-body if he would rather run mounts
I run a front plate on my bbc w/out a midplate, but I do have a limiter on it. Mine plates are madmans also, and they fit like a glove:chug:

I have a gen 1 motor in my 94 V6 car, I used a stock LT1 k member with LT1 mounts, I modded the driver side mount by adding material and drilling a hole but the passenger side mount I just used with 2 bolts.

do you have any pictures of the engine in the car? Im trying to get an idea of how it will sit down in there. I hate to sound like a newbee but this is my first dealing with a Gen 1. i mostly stay with ls1's and ls2's
