Small Block & Big Block Chevy Specific - Fuel injected BBC's ?'s

Ive been looking for some information on Fuel injected chevy BB's.and cant seem to find a thing.
Such as what year gm produced FI BB's. if they did at all. and what type of system it is. and what motor and CID was the engine.
or if there are aftermarket systems available for BBC's.

I've been imagining a fuel injected BB in my 4th gen lately and was wondering if any one has information or links. For me to look at.
I've seen alot of the bb swaps online but cant seem to find one that has a FI system that is stock.

I think all the production BBC's that were not carbed had TBI.

There is also the Ram Jets and all but thats not production in a car.

There should be quite a few different aftermarket options. I know that holley edlebrock and projay all make carb replacement TB's. some units flow up to 2000cfm which should be enough for a BBC.

As far as I know the first factory multi-port EFI big blocks were the '96 Vortec 454's, everything before that was TBI, which was used from '87 to '94. The current Vortec 8.1 is also multi-port.

Same thing stuffed if a C4. It has a cowl hood, but fits remarkably well for its size.
You can also swap everything over to a carb style intake. And either use an elbow, or just get a 4 barrel throttle body. Whatever clears best I guess. What kinda RPM do you want to run. These are kinda restrictive. Ther're supposed to run out around 6 grand, maybe a little sooner. We're gonna put this one on the dyno someday.
^^This was my post in that thread. Its one of our customers cars. AZ Speed and Marine built it over 10 years ago, so the idea of the Mercruiser FI system in a car is nothing new. They do run out of power pretty early. We'll be putting a mono blade on this one, hopefully help it somewhat.

Edelbrock makes both a short and tall deck EFI manifold. All you need is a TB, DFI controller, and fuel injectors.

when i was building my 86 iroc i was using the mercruiser 502 FI setup off a boat. i had some experience w/ them befor i put it together. only real problem was that it was years.....ago and tuners were harder to find.

it worked great though and looked very cool. i wish i had pictures of it to post.

... I wouldn't trouble myself with a BB-Chevy fuel injection "kit", as they can run you a lot of money. Consider designing your own injection system (we did exactly that with our old '86 454 Iroc). Here is a pic of the GM concept car that inspired our build back during the early 90's;

This was a concept known as the "ZR2" Corvette, a 454-TPI Tunnel Port Injection system. They fabricated their own plenum to sit on top off a tunnel ram intake manifold, along with welding in their own injector bungs. It was basically a Holley Stealth Ram waiting to happen.... ;)

Engine Control Management, nowadays, can EASILY be adapted to any setup you can come up with. I'm a big fan of the Dynaic EFI (http://dynamicefi.com) systems, as their based on the earlier TBI ECM's (which the factory 454's came with during the 90's), so, the sky is the limit....
