They are all the same. I'm not even sure why they would have a choice of V8 model-specific ones - there's no difference.

insurance companies that are smart and want cash will charge a premium for the SS even though the SS is nothing but an appearance package (and for some years a few tweaks to the suspension/exhaust).

Most insurance companies I've dealt with classify as Z28/SS and charge the same (whether they jacked up the Z28 to match the SS price or lowered the SS to match their Z28 is debatable).

As far as exhaust goes, there were a few options for our cars so some muffler makers reflect the setup that your car had tailpipe wise with the appropriate muffler to keep the tips I think.

Yeah for some things it will come up as a Z28 SS if it is a SS, but I didn't think that was true for just a Z28. As far as the exhaust goes with Borla there shouldn't be a difference. I have Borla btw, love it.

Its like that because of the RPO codes. EVERY camaro is a camaro some of those are Z28's and some of the Z28's are SS's. Just like how Every firebird is a firebird. Some of them were formulas and some of the formulas were Trans Ams or hawks.

^^^I was trying to think of a good way to explain it but I think you just pretty much covered it

SS is just an option package. All SS cars are Z28's with an SS option.

To an insurance company an SS shows up as a Z28 SS, which means its a Z28 with the SS option. The insurance price difference is minor or not there at all.

My insurance card says "Z28/SS" but my car isn't an SS.
