Alright.. Everytime I put a burned cd into my cd player, it reads E23 on the litle screen. I have a '00 Firehawk if it helps.. Monsoon cd player. I was wondering if this has to do with only a certain brand of burnt cd's or something. Anyone have similar problems? I really don't wanna go and buy an aftermarket cd player cause I plan on keeping the interior as stock. If I do plan on switching to an aftermarket cd player, is there any way I can still use the steering wheel controls for the radio? Thanks for the help, Ryan.

This has been addressed a few times but yes you can retain your steering controls by using a PAC steering control adapter. The PAC adapter model will depend on which brand of aftermarket stereo you choose as it utilizes that stereos IR remote signal.

Yes, different brands of CD-R blanks work better than others. Of course, you have to burn the CD as an audio disc - not MP3 or data - and you get the best results burning at between 8x and 10x regardless of how fast your recorder is capable of recording. Don't buy the more expensive "music" CD-Rs - they are physically identical to data discs, the extra money just goes to the recording industry. I have had good results with Verbatim and Maxell, not so good with Memorex.
