Kinda new to the board, and had a couple people ask about my new car for 08 so here's some info:

It's a 1994 TA that I am told was formerly the fastest LT1 powered car in the country. It currently has a 408ci Dart SBC with Callies crank, Oliver titanium rods, JE pistons, Comp solid roller, belt drive, T&D shaft rockers, wolf 4 stage dry sump, reverse cooling, maziere pump, C & S 1000 cfm blow through aerosal carb, 106mm turbonetics turbo, liquid cooler, etc...

Tranny is currently a Rossler 400 (stock case) with a chance converter, 9" rear, 35 spline axles, spool, 3.90 gear.

Stock style suspension with a tubular k-member, afco struts, lamb brakes all around, etc., etc.

I bought the car a couple months ago pretty much turn key, although not completed, untuned, and needing some TLC. The intentions for the time being are to redo the cold piping on the car, build a passenger compartment liquid cooler instead on the unit currently on the car, a new fuel cell, water cell, kirkey seats, minitub, narrow the rear end, and redo the cage to a 25.2 cert. The new set up will be with alumastar wheels with the rears being 15 X 12 with 6" BS and I will run a 28 X 10.5 (non W) slick. It has sissy bars, but I expect to dial the suspension in and remove them after I have some seat time. I plan on keeping it blow through for the begining of the 08 season, but may switch over to EFI later. (I already have 90mm throttle body, intake with rails, 160# injectors, dual bosch pumps, etc.. would only need to buy another XFI or BS3 to convert.) The car also needs to be completely rewired from scratch, and there are some other odds and ends in the plans.

All the work above is being done by Profile Racecraft, and I believe tuning will be done by Jim Filipowski (have spoken with him briefly about the car and told him I would drop it off when its ready). The car is also going to be painted in Feb. Com spring, it will be ready to hit the track.

Here are a few pics:

I noticed the A2W location, what's done with the radiator?

Currently the radiator is mounted horizontally below the intercooler, You can kinda see in this pic:

Nice, have you driven it? I bet it could hit a high 12 if it hooked, might be in stock ls1 territory. j/k, shooting for 8s or 7s?

Has not been driven in its current form. I am sure it will have 7 sec potential, however I don't expect to go out to the track and make 7 sec passes the first time ever driving the car - lol. The first few trips to the track I'll be at about 12-15psi, and expect mid 8s to get used to the car before turning it up. After that we will be simply keep turning it up slowly to see how fast it will go.

.

I have no idea how the hell all you turbo & blower guys work on these stock bodied cars. Everything is too frigging tight or blocked. Good luck, be safe.

Indeed it is. I am a turbo buick fan, and always have at least one turbo buick in my possession :secret2:

In fact, the complete drive train in this TA may very well end up in a stock suspension regal roller that is at another chassis shop getting 25.5 right now also.

The white T in the garage is actually an 83 that has been converted to all the 86-87 stuff. Few goodies, but mostly stock :D

haha I knew it. good taste in cars by the way. ;)

shot in the dark here.. is the 83 a limited? bench seats and column shifter? talk about a sleeper.. lol.. that's the next turbo buick I'd own.

I love my F-Body, but I'd really like to see a big turbo smallblock in a g-body too. I heave a real soft spot for G-bodies.. they just look so mean to me when done right. Too bad they have the aerodynamics of a brick.

Nice purchase on the TA, that is serious go-fast-ness.

My last GN had a 358ci SBC with a single GT47-88mm turbo, and air to air cooler, but was a T-top car that 1.35 60 on the 8.5 rear end. My intentions when I parted it out and sold the roller were to jump right into a 25.5 Regal hard top with a simliar powerplant, but construction of that car was taking longer than I expected, so I bought this to have some fun with until my Regal is ready... But I figure that after I have the chassis work done on this TA, and manage to keep it off the wall all season, then the roller will be easily sellable so I can get back into my G-Body roots.

However, driving something that is far more aerodynamic, lighter, and handles better might change my mind.. who knows! lol

Maybe I'll see it at a track here in Michigan this spring! Jim's similar combo ran FAST and consistant so I'm confident he can get you going in the right direction. yellowbullet.com has a few blow thru guru's also!

The maiden voyages of this car will be in MI, so you may very well see it up there. I'll have to check out that site- thanks-

Thats Dave Ductote's old car, local Houston car, at one point in time it held the record, not any more though. It ran 9.18@152, was a 381/Pro charger set up built by Madman. This was around October of 2001.

Indeed it is, still has the procharger windshield banner, and 3D racing decals on the back window..

Those however will be replaced with Profile Racecraft stickers :D
