Ok guys and gals, I'm not new to the SBC world, but I am to the turbo world. Just wondering if anyone out there has a 400, stock bottom end, w/ camel humps, and ~ a 240 cam w/ a single t3 or t4. I'm not looking to get some serious HP w/ that turbo, but I'd like to see at least 450 thru a TH-400. I'm building a dakota (all I have right now) w/ this set up.

Any input?

.....450? A 400 on all motor can do that easily...maybe easy 700+ wheel HP.

w/ that head setup and a b/s cam? I think that maybe a bit high even for a 400

Man, a cam with 240 duration at .050 and a hogged out set of cammels will make over 400 hp no problem.

I was just wondering... I'm one of them shadetree guys w/ great success... Never put a SBC on a dyno so I have nothing to go off of...

W/ the engine in your sig, what kinda dyno #'s are you putting down?

I will let you know as soon as i get her dyno tested. I will tell you, i am pulling LS1 cars hard on the big end and they are all having a few boltons. I even have a 2.73 gear, so if they are dynoing 300-350 hp at the rear i might be there or higher i assume.

But i will not know till i get her on the dyno.

Get some better heads. The old double hump heads were good for back in the day, but even stock Vortec heads will outflow a set of hogged out double humps.
