Just get a hammer out and chip away at the plastic. :D
Seriously i'm stuck working all weekend. We have to move some poles on seattle hill road at the washout and it has to be done by monday am.
If it's anything like the other heater boxes i've pulled over the years now you just have to unbolt it from the firewall, mabey a few supporting brackets and the whole ball o shit will come out as a unit. As far as the A/C delete goes.......????

Yeah, NEITHER you OR Sardog is allowed close to my car right now....
I should bring it over....but I don't need your cover plate, I orderd one. Probably means I'll need to cut holes in it for the heater hoses. Anyway, here that bad boy is. And there are several words I'd use to describe this task, but EASY isn't one of them! :bang:
Oh, and remember that bolt in the center of the firewall that we wondered what it was for Chad? I figured it out when I had all the other bolts taken out for the HVAC unit & it still woudn't come out.....
And I am removing the AC unit so I have room to mount my coil packs. The FMIC is taking the space I had the Alky pumpin, so it's moving to where one of the coil packs was mounted, which means I need to move it. This is the only place left.

Looks good. Not sure why you wasted money on a plate?
Make sure you bring the expensive one so we can cut it up to use ;)

BLING....you know, polished aluminum. And to give you more ides. :secret2:
The ONLY cutting I see it will need is holes for the heater hoses. And it isn't here yet, so there. :engarde:
What I find most amazing is the size of the HVAC unit. It's got to be just about as big as the tranny is. Must be the sissy factor, Americans want instant COLD & instant HEAT. :eyes:

There will be a few holes besides the Heater hose hole. ;)
I know which ones and where

How much does that thing weigh? I remember swapping out the heater core in the WS6 and was suprised at how easy it was to do compared to other cars I've worked on.

Ok Mark, When you are done with yours, you can come pull all mine out for me.:D I guess I could use some weight reduction as well!!!:pimp:

If I didn't "need" the room, I would be doing this. When it's all said & done this will probably only save me about 10lbs. So considering the amout of work involved (remove the seats, console, & steering column and hack on the HVAC box) I doubt it's worth it Doug. But we can IF you really want to....
Thanks for your assistance Ellis! :chug:
