Have a look at the Monsoon FAQ (http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=612644) for lots of information about the amp and speakers in Monsoon systems. Basically, it is not necessary to get 2-ohm speakers for the doors because aftermarket 4-ohm speakers are more efficient than the factory ones and will work fine. It is necessary to get the proper component speakers in order to use the two separate channels in each door (mid and tweeter).
Kee Audio has CDT component sets that work really well as replacements for the stock setup - I have them myself and they sound great.

Where are you going to put six??? And why?? Just two can sound loud (and much better than six) if powered properly.

yeah i already read all that crap... that shit has not been updated and has been locked since 2005... so im sure there are new speakers now that will work better than what was listed there (alpine 170A, JL 6W0)

um... there are six 6.5 inch speakers in the car already... pretty sure he meant replacing all the stock speakers. (2 door, 2 sail sub, 2 rear)

Um...if you had read the Monsoon FAQ (which was written late last year - I know, I wrote it) then you would know that the doors and sail panels have 6.5" speakers but the hatch has 4" speakers.
Yes, there are newer models of the Alpine speakers but they're still basically the same and require the same modification. Besides, Firebirds have components in the doors so you don't want to replace them with coaxials. There are any number of good 6.5" component sets on the market. Check with Kee Audio about the CDT sets he sells.
