i dont really know anything about speakers and all that stuff.. i was thinking of getting 6.5 comp. speakers from polk to replace all 6 speakers in my camaro. when i have them installed would they have to alter anything or can u just put them in like the stock speakers. should i replace the main rear speakers or is that just a waste of money. is it worth it to get component speakers or should i just go with a speaker with the sub and tweeter together?

use a kicker 300.4 amp and run 2 sets of components. one up front that should fit with very little modification to the 6.5 bracket and the ones right behind the driver with the tweeter behind the panel othewise youll have way too much tweet.

You don't have six 6.5" speakers in your car. You can get all the sizes and specs and lots more information in Monsoon FAQ (http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=612644).
If you're keeping the factory Monsoon amp then you have to be selective about the replacement speakers you get. The doors have components that are coaxially mounted and the sail panels have subs that are low pass filtered so nothing but bass signal goes there. This has been discussed hundreds of times - a quick search should turn up lots of information for you.
Check with Kee Audio. He has compete replacement sets in various price ranges.

Make sure these are the MOMO and not DBs first. THen run 700.4 on it and they will scream CLEAR audio on it. If you are daring to maximize those outstanding speakers then hit em with the 900.4 (best amplifier on the market, for these bad boys). I have the MOMOs and will tell you the 350.4 is a joke. Either 700.4 sx series or the 900.4 (+++) is your best bet. Hell you don't even need subs with that good of a sounding midrange in your car. You'll never hear your 6x9 if you fabricate them in the rear, so . . . I wouldn't go with them. But yes, LINEGT is correct about going with a good amp, prob. kicker but go a little higher you can run 125w RMS on them and the 900.4 does just that.
P.S. REWIRE THe car. You prob. love your F-body like we do and don't want engine noise due to the POS monsoon amp thats in there. Matter in fact rip it out and run new wire, you'll need it anyway to power those speakers correctly.
