The NMCA season opener is right around the corner with the first stop in sunny Florida at Bradenton Motorsports Park. March 28-30 2008. I would like to invite everyone to come run in One of our Heads-up classes or try your hand at some index style racing if that's not your cup of tea The True Street class is always a blast. For more information and rules go to www.nmcadigital.com

We'll be there w/ a booth set up. Also should, if all goes well, be racing a twin turbo LS1 1972 Cutlass in the True Street Class. You're right, True Street is a blast to say the least!

My mission guys is to make True Street back like it used to be in the beginning remember back in 91-92 at Memphis but these were the big tire cars. We need the excitment back like it was then I even think it's even more exciting now because of the smaller tire and the cars today are more streetable because of the fuel injection and the technology has progressed so much. Spread the word lets make the 2008 season rock.:headbang:

i'm hoping to make it to the event at Atco in June.I still need to put a driveshaft loop on the car. I've never raced any events before and I'm not real familiar with the whole program. DO they have a true street or whatever they call it class like the NMRA has?

I will be attending the BMP NMCA event (just spent all week-end at NMRA), hopefully we have a bit of some better weather then we did at the NMRA event. Cant wait to meet some of the Tech members again and cant wait to see Six Speed Inc. banging those gears again. I am hoping to have my car finished up so that I can make some passes, but if not, I will be cruising around down in the pits.

Where is the pre-race party gonna be at?

If everything goes as planned I will be attending most if not all the NMCA events. I am running open comp. Still haven't decided which bracket I am going to run in either the 10.0 or 9.0. I will keep up to date with this thread and maybe we can pick a time and place to all meet up or something. Do any of you guys know of some hotels around that area that arent to bad. I plan on leaving late Wed night when I get off work and arriving sometime Thur evening till either late Sat night or if I make it to the finals then Sun. I am on the hunt for a decent hotel that isn't going to kill my pockets as the fuel coming down will already be doing that.

Thanks
Kevin

Kevin,
When you run open comp, they take your best of 3 qualifying runs and set your index 1 tenth quicker than that. It doesn't have to be on a straight even second. For example, if you ran 9.84, 9.90 and 9.87 your index would be set at 9.74 for all of eliminations.
As far as hotels go, search Bradenton and look for addresses with 67th St Circle East. This is located just west of I-75 and about 8 miles from the track. I'm staying at the Days Inn, rooms are about $90 a night.

I hope some more of you guys decide to come out and run with us next weekend or any race for that matter, especially those of you who have not had much track time. Late Model EFI and Open Comp would be good primers for anyone who plans on making the big show in Memphis in October and run the index class. Of course True Street is just a blast to race in since you really are only racing yourself.

Plus True Street is a lot of fun cruising 30 miles with a bunch of other cars knowing once the cruise is down you'll be making laps at the track shortly thereafter!

When are you guys leaving? I am in MD and plan on leaving late Wed night when I get off at 10pm.....drive through the night and hopefully get there by Thur afternoon/evening if I can stay awake....lol. I am bringing my laptop so maybe I can actually meet up with some of you.

Also I see that its like 125.00 for me to race, does that include a pit pass for my g/f or does she have to buy a seperate ticket??

I'm heading down Friday morning so I can be at the track by noon to get a few laps on the bird. The entry fee for a Sat-Sun racer was $85 I thought. $105 would include a Friday TNT entry.
