I understand the alpines are having issues with the ipod nanos. my question to you is, does it matter which generation nano? I have the first generation nano. Do you have any experience with this? this is the ONLY thing holding me back.

What Alpines? I have Alpines in both cars, and a first generation Nano. No issues, with the cable.

I have more products as well that I will be announcing as I get confirmation on specific models. Hifonics, Audiobahn, Pioneer Premier, MB Quart, Arsenal by JVC, Tsunami, Stinger, and several more.
I will also be expanding to a home theater line of products as well. The list will be short but will be quality items from Mitsubishi, Onkyo, HP Invent, and a few others.

Its only on certain models.
When an iPod Nano is connected to this Alpine, the Nano will not turn off when the Alpine does, causing the Nano battery to drain. Users can disconnect the Nano from the Alpine each time the vehicle is turned off to avoid the Nano battery drain. Alpine is aware of this issue and is seeking a solution. xxxxxxxxxxx will monitor the progress of any possible solution.

Its "ready" as in its capable. You still need to buy the parts to make it work. I dont know the part number BUT i do know its made by PAC. Ill be purchasing this aswell.

It wasn't on my listing my distributor gave me however neither was alot of stuff. I apparently do carry the full line of Alpine now including the Type-E through Type-X subs, amps, and HU's. If you have something your specifically interested in just give me a model number and I can check availability for you and pricing.

I'm heavily researching upgrades and talked with Crutchfield because I noticed that the steering wheel control adapter isn't on the Accessory list for any of the new IDA models. He indicates that you have to purchase the wireless remote and the PAC adapter to connect to the remote. Then there's some kind of programming involved.
Obviously not as easy as with the CDA series and its causing me to rethink the purchase of the IDA models. Alpine's obviously less than forthcoming about this change :(
Ian, if you can find out what the deal is here I'd appreciate it.

The PAC SWI-X is a straightforward install. The programming is button pushing. The unit has 2 led's. Once for the Steering Wheel button and the other of the infrared remote. It's dummy proof once you hook up the wires.

The IDA-x100 has the plug to interface with the SWI-JACK wired interface. It's installed and working flawlessly in my car, as well as the XM Direct2 (programmed for an ida-x001)
The X100 doesn't come with a wireless remote, so if you wanted to use the SWI-X, you'd need to buy or borrow someone's Alpine wireless remote to program it.
Ian, congrats on carrying Alpine now.. I would have much rather bought mine from you... Nice price too!

on your prices does that include the install face place and wiring harness?
KEE AUDIO
03-12-2008, 05:02 PM
On any unit over $129.00 I will include the mount adapter, harness adapter, and antenna adapter where applicable. This does NOT include the harness adapter for newer model GM products that require the special harness for Onstar, Bose and door chime functions. The harness for those applications are available but not included.

so if i bought my X100 you would give me the antenna adaptor and wireharness? I dont need the mount cuz im getn one from HUMount
KEE AUDIO
03-16-2008, 10:41 PM
I would if it is for an F-body or comparable type of harness adapter. What I am getting at is some of the newer GM products as well as others need a special adapter that costs over $150.00 in order for the Onstar, door chime, and some other functions to operate. I cannot include this particular harness for free for obvious reasons. If your speaking about an F-body harness or comparable....no problem....I will include that and the antenna adapter for you and any other order!! Just though I should clarify.
