Sweet!!! Did you see the exhaust sensor on the silver one?
Those are the new Porsche Carrera GT! Holy Smokes they look FANTASTIC!!! :eek2: They will cost around $420,000. They are V-10's, I believe they are a 5.5 liter engines. They are estimated to make about 610 hp and weigh approximately 3,000 lbs. I guess Porsche finally got a clue and decided to get serious about trying to win Le Mans and give the C5's, Vipers and Ferrari's some real competition. :burn:
Check out where the shifter is located, nearly half way up the dash.

Champion Porsche is the largest Porsche dealership in the nation. I wouldn't be suprised if some Porsche-phile pays well over $500K to be one of the first to own the new GT.

I saw a new GT3 in a parking garage that we use sometimes, is that a rare one?
I think the GT3's are N/A 3.6 6 cyl that are making close to 390 hp? I believe they are capable of running low 12's - a couple of tenths slower then the Turbo model.

When Porsche decides that the rules are written to allow them to compete fairly, and if they want to win, they'll come back. They won outright in 1998 and left after that due to the rules structure. There is a rule change for 2004, but I dont think they'll race prototypes then *if* they do come back. The upcoming rules for next year's GTS class basically make the Viper and C5R uncompetitive before they even get on the track. Sorta like how a 996 Turbo has been legal to race in GTS for the last few years, but no one has campaigned them because they wouldn't even stand a chance. It wouldn't surprise me if Chevrolet doesn't even go back next year.
Porsche has won it outright 9 times, and have more class wins than any other car maker (in the mid 50s I think). Factor into this they've always been independant and thier tiny size and limited resources, and its really a wonderous thing. To me at least.

I was speaking of recent years. Porsche is a great car company and has an incredible amount of wins for a small company.
