Top Gear recently hired a US photographer to capture the new Challenger for their magazine.
The Streetfire video below details what's involved with shooting cars and has plenty of footage of the new Challenger with the a pristine original. Click the photo to view the video.

Also semi-related. A Challenger fan recently used Chrysler media footage to edit an old Mopar commercial to feature the new Challenger instead of the old one. The result is extremely cool.

They usually do that... But I am sure this Challenger will be driven around a track, and I am sure with all that weight it wont be too hard to tear apart.
Challenger LOOKS great, but I wonder how well it will perform.

I wouldn't say they "tear them apart". More like tell it like it is with no fussy BS. Like when they said the Shelby GT500 went like a bat out of hell in a straight line but with the "Stone Age" solid rear axle it wouldn't turn as well as a car with high tech IRS to match the high tech motor. Then they proved it by taking an IRS Roush Mustang with less power and lapping their track faster than with the Shelby.
They really land hard on Jaguars, Aston Martins and most other cars about one feature or another. I get a kick out of the term "Flappy-Paddle Gearbox" for the Ferrari and Lamborghini F1 style shifters.
Oh, and Clarckson keeps calling the Porsche 911 a Beetle .

yeah but they compare every american car to a freaking european exotic with no consideration for price (most of the time). They love jags and rovers but why are both those companies losing money year after year if they are so amazing?

Top Gear pretty much tells it as it is and their comments aren't colored or influenced by automakers or advertising. They also like like a wide range of cars from a wide range of places. I also can't remember the last time anyone on the show or magazine gave a Rover a good review.

Im sorry they may tell it like it is, but thats for the Euro cars. Every american car on their has been bashed for bullshit reasons. They had nothing to say about the Z06 when they realized holy crap this car makes ours look like shit. So they had to bring up how we still use leaf springs, the back bumper gives way a bit, and then tried to compare it to a Ferrari in saying that the Ferrari was more comfortable to drive on the road. Well shit i should hope so considering your going to be selling off your wife and kids to get one.

It's just a European superiority thing. We wouldn't get props with the space shuttle! On the other hand they bash their own cars sometimes.

exactly, and on that test of the Zo6 they don't end up throwing it against another car on the track like they do to every other american car. I don't want to hijack the thread anymore or start an argument..... so the Challenger looks pretty good :)

If you watched the show you would know they like plenty of American cars bash plenty of European cars and are very complimentary of the Corvette despite it's bad interior and flexy body panels.
The version of the Pontiac GTO they get mauled the 300C and Jaguar S-Type R in their comparison and their last review of the Pontiac G8 they get was very good. Jeremy's review of the Ford GT is Godly, Richard's film about the classic Dodge Charger is excellent, and the review of the old CTS-V had me rolling.
Often it seems the people who claim Top Gear isn't objective aren't objective themselves.

It's not that they aren't objective, it is just that their standards are a smidge too high for cars that really weren't aiming that high in the first place. It seems to me that unless a car is a pureblood racecar or an Aston Martin, it is pure crap to them. Even then, they nit-pick and bitch about stuff. Yeah, it could be called constructive criticism, but they do it too vehemontly to really be "constructive." Watching their show is like reading internet car forums when it comes to their polarized opinions about everything and how exaggerated everything seems on the show.
Still, it's an entertaining show to watch. I like the episode where they go RV'ing and set their camper on fire...:D

What gets me is how they shit all over the Opel Vectra, yet it gets so many awards and good reviews over here in Aura/Malibu guise. It doesn't make any sense.

They aren't the same car. The Vectra is unique to Europe and isn't sold here in any form. The G6, Malibu and Aura share the basic chassis and that's it.

Oops. My bad on that one...It's the OLD Malibu it shares it's chassis with, which explains everything! Never mind!

Why are US automakers circling the toilet if they make such great cars?Because the clever advertising (aka: brainwashing) purchased by import nameplate corporations works well.
And they're not exactly circling the the toilet anyway, they're doing a little worse overall than some of the others but the ENTIRE auto industry is feeling some belt tightening right now.
