Uh oh, Ford's completely redone passenger car savior has found it's way online.

Slated for 2010, the Taurus will be completely new and packing a turbocharged V6 with optional AWD. I must say it's not half bad looking.

Looks almost exactly like a Mazda 6... but I like it. And a turbo V6 with AWD? That'd be a nice family car/ DD.

I was thinking Toyota, but definitely Japanese looking, and that's sad.

It may be sad, but it may also be the ONLY thing that will lure the sheeple-lemmings in this country out of their F'ING Camrys, and save Ford's ass. :(

Most domestics already have the build quality, reliability, performance, etc. of their 'gold standard epitome of perfection'<-:eyes: :eyes: Camry.
So maybe it takes looking like one to get those afforementioned sheeple out of theirs and into a domestic nameplate for once.

It's worth a shot! I hope it works for them. :thumb: :usa:

Well, that would make sense. Aren't Ford and Mazda still in cahoots? Ford Taurus = Mazda 6... makes a lot of sense for Ford, from a reliability/quality standpoint at the very least.

Not too shabby looking, although I'm still more prone to the G8.

I don't think it looks bad at all, would make me consider a Taurus unlike the past models.

To me, it looks like a product of Ford of Europe's design studio, which is definitely a good thing. The front end screams Focus RS and Mondeo...

I hope they start offering manuals with the V6's again...

Never fear F-body fans . That car is way to pretty for them to bring over here to America. Didn't you know all really nice cars go to the aussies ?

All new cars look similar these days, and the only thing that slightly changes are the front valances and the lights.

Either way, I like the new looks.

But will they give us a manual or DSG? Hell no.

Everything about performance Taurus', past and future, looks great on paper until you see the crappy, power-sapping tranny that Ford puts behind them...

Case in point: Yamaha V8 Taurus SHO.

Toyota has done PLENTY of their share of copying as well.
The original Toyota (err, I mean Lexus LOL) LS400 borrowed a lot from the BMW 7 series and M-B S class of that era and the Tundra blatantly ripped off the F-150.
Every manufacturer borrows styling cues from other successful designs, NOT just Ford.

Speaking of which, did you see how close the Ford Fiesta's steering wheel is to the Honda Civics...

Or how the Pontiac Vibe is a straight copy of the Toyota matrix with different badges.

Or how the Pontiac Vibe is a straight copy of the Toyota matrix with different badges.Well that's a bit different, I assume you're kidding and knew this but that's a joint venture between Pontiac and Toyota, there is a very valid reason why they're so similar.
