Stereo & Electronics - Performance window motors for f-bodies, do they exist?

I just replaced my driver's side window motor with an OEM one according to the description on Ebay. (I believe the name of the place was A1 Auto.) I highly doubt its an OEM and if it is, it has to be refurbished. The passenger side is still original and it rolls up much quicker than this "new one." But even if I was to buy an original one, its still incredibly slow! Does anyone make a direct replacement or a conversion kit for Camaros ('00) so that it has a much stronger faster roll? Thanks

I replaced mine with a SIEMENS motor from autozone...direct replacement for about $65.00 or so. It has a life time warranty too. I also trimmed some of the rubber away from the glass on the inside of the door's edge, to relieve some of the friction. I also sprayed A LOT of white lithium grease on the window regulator.

I saw on LS1.com, someone stated that there was a direct replacement from a Dodge that was much faster than the stock motors. Nobody ever posted any part numbers or what they were out of.

You guys don't have to buy a whole new motor. The motor is fine, it is just that every time you click the switch to put the window up or down, it creates a spark which send an electical signal. This spark creates, for lack of better term, ash/shute build up which makes it hard for the electical signal to travel so the window doesn't go up or down. Just get some steel wool or a pocket knife and scrape the stuff off. Hope this helps, it worked on my buddies 1986 Saab Turbo

Thats not always true because when I swapped my motor I didn't clean the switch at all and it works flawlessly now.

That's cool that it worked after the motor swap, just trying to give you guys other ideas so you don't have to buy another window motor, good luck

I've sent an email regarding this issue to GMHTP and am awaiting a reply. If I get any info on what issue it was in I'm going to order a back issue and get the info.
I'll post as soon as I get a reply.
