So my valentine seems to go crazy if the rpm goes past 3000 ...Does any one know why this might be?Also the valentine one never turns off, even with the keys out of ignition..and Ive tried it in both outlets
Have you recently changed your spark plugs and/or wires when this started?

The outlets are hot all the time. it won't shut off. I hard-wired mine into the ignition circuit so it would shut off with the car.

...Yes actually I changed the spark plugs and the wires were also removed along with the coil packs...Does that have something to do with it?

Sounds like RFI problems.
Non resistor plugs/wires would cause that...

OK I did a search and RFI is radio frequency distortion or the way I look at it one of the plugs somehow is sealing properly?Im still confused

You may have cracked one of the wires when you removed the boots.. try running the engine at night in the dark and look for sparks?
I'm running the same plugs, no issues.

Sorry B T I should of made it clearer..There were 2 spark plugs that were loose...but the reason I looked up this post again is cus the problem came back!lolz..One wire was arching last night but the plug was tight and the wire was in good resistance(msd wires)the arch was from the metal heat shield to the block..

Maybe its a problem with the radar. I have an excort Passport 8500 and i have never had a single problem with it at all. In fact it saves my ass more times than i can count. I have heard so many good things about the valentine one, and im interested in getting one. Hope they don't all come with this defect, maybe you just got a bad one?

It's a problem reported with the x50, too. I've never seen it with any RD though.

I have the same wires and plugs and v1 for several years now and no problems, but I do have it hardwired. As far as it never turning off, like said already, the outlets are always hot, I would do the hardwire, its not hard and hides the cord.
As for it going off over 3000 rpm..no idea there...did you change anything else aroudn that time?

have yall seen the invisicord setup? google it. Looks like it ties into the reading lamps in your rear view mirror. I think those only get power when the car is on right?

No, the map lights in the mirror have battery (constant) power although they will shut off some time after the car is shut off because of the battery saver feature of the BCM.
