:emb: Tricked again. Those damn auto manufacturers. Just when no one can afford the price of regular fuel. Those damn auto manufacturers are building more "CARS" that require pricier premium gas.
Thats front page news at USA Today The total cars for 2008 that require this fuel are 282. Up from 2006 when only 245 cars required it.
Article gave some examples: GM's 6.2 Yukon. Well folks a Yukon is a TRUCK in my eyes. A 7,100# GVW Truck. For those in the know you can buy a Yukon with a 5.3. It runs on regular. The 6.2 comes in the Yukon Denali. Then they talked about Mazda, Volkswagen, and BMW. For Christ Sake USA Today, those aren't major players. Why the hell didn't you identify the number of Toe Ottas or Toyotas? How about Hondas? That require costly fuel? Honda builds vehicles they call trucks. Yet their trucks aren't full framed vehicles.
Everyone already knows if they wanted to these manufacturers could build vehicles that get 50 mpg. @ 100 mph. This Yukon that USA Today called a car cost GM much less than the 50 K + sticker price.
Yep, you're right. My local news paper cost .50 cents from the box. You would think a paper that cost .75 from the box USA TODAY would have better information! :D
