Stereo & Electronics - is my Monsoon System on the Fritz?

I have got a problem in my 99 Camaro.last fall my 200 watt monsoon stock system some of the lights went out in the Receiver and at the same time my 12 disc changer started giving me errors and won't play Cd's.I have a Cassette deck receiver with a 12 disc CD changer.Has anyone had this problem?Anyone know what it is?

Read the stickies at the begining of the forum, all the error codes and there hopeful fix's are listed. As for the lights, your gonna have to live with it, replace the deck, or find someone out there that can replace them. With the price of a good deck nowadays, I vote to replace it.

I did see in the stickies how to check what code it is.I will do that.The lights I can live without.I don't see any of the big companies with cassette decks anymore.

Yeah I know I am living in the Stone ages LOL anyway I want a cassette because I have 12 cd changer....

But you can use a 2000+ CD head unit with the changer. It's only earlier models that required a cassette head unit for changer support.

And if you replace it with one with a 2000+ model then you would have your lights working again....sounds like a win win!!

No Just the tape deck ,just because I have about 500 cassettes:(Anyway How do I see what code my deck is throwing?I seen in the stickies there was a button to push to see what code it's throwing ,now I cant find it....My CD player doesn't do anything....It's like it isn't even plugged in....
