Well, let's just say it was funny . . . even though I had some problems with the car. I'm having the infamous knock sensor codes pop up ( both of them ), so the car pulls an automatic 4 degrees at WOT. Even more than that, as ATAP reports only 9-12 degrees advance!! So I've got really low timing and 91 octane and 5psi, and this bike decides to give me a run. He merged onto the freeway just after I did and hung back for a while, then I look in the rearview and see him laying on the bike and charging hard. I'm doing about 70mph and drop to 4th. He had a good head of steam on me, but only got about a carlength ahead and then I started pulling hard. All over! He tried again, but this time I just let him go, figured I proved my point. It was only a 500, but I still thought I did well considering how much HP I was missing!

I don't understand your sig. The times are before the turbo setup......right. Do you still have spray with the TT set up? any times with what you run now? Car must be a beast, even not tuned. I would love to get a setup like that, but Cali is a little bitch when it comes to modding cars. :bang:

Sorry . . . that does appear a bit confusing. I'm not running spray anymore . . . I really only have a couple of slips under my belt with the TT . . . completely untuned stock block I was right around 11.7@118, it seems that when I exorcise one demon another pops up, like the stupid KS codes . . . I've got a water/alky setup on the car I haven't even had the chance to tune yet! On a safe tune and 100 octane though I made the 531/538 . . .

I am assuming you had a NOS brand system. You did very well with that setup and only 75 hp shot. I am thinking about the nitrous route because of ease of removal. If I can duplicate your increases I should be in the low 12s. With the cam high 11s. :drive:

Thanks . . . I was quite happy with my car with free mods, gears, ET Streets and the spray ( which actually was NX ). It's been a long and disappointing road with the TT . . . nothing really the fault of the kit, just one problem after another . . . but I'm getting there!

This may be old news but for what it is worth:

Did you try replacing both your knock sensors with 1999+ sensors? Some 1998 guys swapped them out and knock went away... Do a search...

Just thought this was funny. I'm sure belt slippage
is/was one of the frustration things you talk out.

as mentioned, turbocharges have no belts. The impeller is spun by exhaust gasses exiting via manfiolds. Ssystems using a belt to spin an impeller are called Superchargers.

I wonder if twin superchargers are even possible? Nice kill.

twin superchargers are possible, and there was also a twin turboed and supercharged skyline. yes i have seen some twin supercharged applications on older carbed cars, but never seen the setup on a newer gen car. just remember if you have the money, any combo for your motor is possible!!!
