I would love to have a GT40 like this, even more than having a Ford GT. It has the look of the race car, and comes with a 427. Thats as close as anybody can get in owning an original Ford GT40, and i love how it looks.

One of my favorite cars of all time. I'll take mine in black with an LS1 please:D.

Why an LS1? If you want an LS1 in something like that you get yourself a Factory Five Racing GTM Supercar, and with an LS1 not an LS7:devil:. This is the best chance anyone who has the money will get at owning history, i would love to have one. I bet it sounds like a monster with that 427.

AGREED!

About the only other powerplant I would consider is a worked 7 liter out of the Saleen S7 supercar, even though that would not be 'period' authentic.

Oh, I agree the FE 427 would be killer; but this is not history, it is still a kit car and I think a worked LS1 and a more modern transmission (Porshce 6 speed) would make it a better driver. If we were talking original GT40s I'd say it should have whatever motor it came with.

Oh i totally understand what your saying it will never ever compare to an original. But i guess if i were spending the money i would want as close to original looking as possible. No Ford GT40 will ever compete with the originals, those things were/are incredible.
