Stereo & Electronics - help with picking my new head unit

hey guys i need your help picking my new hu.
its between the eclipse 3200 and the pioneer premere 6000ub.
they both have usb inputs which i like and i want xm and the eclipse is set up for sirius but i can buy optional adaptors for xm to work with the eclipse.
i want an eq and the eclipse has a 3 band basic eq and the pioneer has a 7 band so i can adjust it a little more.
which hu would have better sq and better over all quality?

The SQ will be the same. Go for the Pioneer. (Note: I do like Eclipse, but that doesn't mean they're always worth it.)

Those are our only choices? I would do the Pioneer but only because of the EQ and the Eclipse tuners suck. Other choices out there though.

eclipse is WAY better quality. its not all about the EQ,a nd are you sure it isnt a parametric EQ in the eclipse? im too lazy to look it up, but thats strange for them to have a 3 band EQ and it NOT be parametric.

I was also too lazy to look that up, but I did think the same. But I figured it is possible because that is one of their lower end models.

the spec's say 3 band eq(mid,high and bass)for the eclipse.i like alpine and now i have an older 7892 that has been good but its old and dont have the newer features in it and only has bass and treble adjustments.even the new alpines dont have an eq that i have seen. keep up the opinions guys.

Look up prices for Alpine Bluetooth modules, HD Radio tuners, etc. Then look up Pioneer's prices. Use Froogle or Ebay or whatever. Then tell us you still like Alpine.

I must agree that Alpine is much more expensive for the same features as Pioneer, but I'd still say I like Alpine. They make a great HU as far as I'm concerned. The same goes with JL. Their amps are outrageously expensive, but good.

I will give you that. I don't like the look of Alpine units, nor do I like the pricing, but I have no issues with the quality. As far as JL amps go, I have a 500/5 and like it very much. I had issues with 2 Pioneer amplifiers before it (one my fault and one not) so I decided to go for a brand that would stand behind it's product. I haven't needed them to yet.

That is a sweet looking deck, but it doesn't play cd's. Sure, I don't use cd's all that often, but it would still suck if I couldn't use them at all

I have the stock radio still and I'm going crazy cause I can't use my iphone on it..What do you need a cd player for?

pioneer for sure, if you wanna get an eclipse you should go for the higher up ones, but that one looks like doodoo compared to the pioneer

i want a unit that will play cd's tho.i think im leaning toward the pioneer.

I have an Eclipse CD5000 in my Civic. See what they are on E-Bay. Also a GT series Sony which has a kick-ass tuner.

I hope that GT series sony is better than the rest of their stuff. I'd never put one of those in my car.

It is. I put one in my Daughter's Cavalier and it almost made me want to take my Eclipse out! It actually had equal or more tuning available, ton better FM reception (almost equal to Supertuner) and the highest dB noise rating for a CD.

i like pioneer hu. they have a lot of options and i like how you can adjust sub level with out affecting the rest of the speakers. you can also get a really easy to install i pod connection that controls your i pod compleately from the hu with out having to mess with your i pod. ill say pioneer all the way.

pioneer since i was 16. tried and true. have not regretted buying any one of them. every car in the yard (4) has a pioneer.
